The Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) has released the 2025 Yeouido Declaration at its 32nd General Meeting in Seoul, marking 20 years since the landmark 2005 Seoul Declaration.

The Declaration underscores the urgent need to renew multilateral cooperation and open regionalism to address today’s most pressing challenges—rising protectionism, demographic transformations, technological disruption, and climate change.

Key calls to action include:

  • Building trust in the rules-based trading system and advancing inclusive, sustainable growth.
  • Harnessing AI and digital innovation responsibly to bridge divides and foster shared prosperity.
  • Responding to demographic pressures with structural reforms that support aging societies, robust labor markets, and human capital development.
  • Delivering on commitments to climate action by accelerating the transition to a low-carbon Asia-Pacific.

PECC reaffirms its role as a tripartite platform for dialogue and innovation, committed to empowering the next generation of regional leaders and providing policy insights through its State of the Region report.

Through this Declaration, PECC calls on APEC and the broader Asia-Pacific community to work together for a connected, innovative, sustainable, and resilient future.
