Economic growth in large cities is related to the concentration of population and companies. The mixed nature of most cities requires adequate facilities for the support of adequate urban living conditions (drink water supplying and processing, sewage system and used water treatment, waste collection and treatment, street cleaning, etc.) and policies to address the issue of pollution (nature and location of factories, urban planning, transport system, etc.) and risks (flood, earthquake, etc.). Final Round Table : urban management
Urban management has to deal with all the processes and all the actors involved in the urban framework. The sustainability of cities requires a reflection on the crucial mix that embodies the expression public and private interests and the involvement of all the actors in public decisions : population, economic actors, elected people. The urban management has different shapes, due to different public organizations : state, region, agglomeration, town. How are the responsibilities shared betwen all of them? How to organize the public-private partnerships.
