Prof. Fernando Gonzalez-Vigil

Prof. Fernando Gonzalez-Vigil is currently the Director of the APEC Study Center, Senior Researcher at the Research Center (CIUP) and Professor at the Department of Economics at the Universidad del Pacifico.  Along with being the coordinator of the RTA task force for the PECC Trade Forum, he is also the coordinator for the Asia Pacific Commission of the Consortium of Universities, and Chief representative of the Peruvian Network for Asia Pacific Studies, and the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Research centers on Asia Pacific. He also teaches courses in International Economics and Economic Analysis at the Academia Diplomatica del Peru.

He has been decorated with the "Great Cross" of the Order of "Merit for Distinguished Services" signed by the President of the Republic of Peru and by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru.

He was the Vice Minister of International Economy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru from Aug 1995-July 1996.  He was also the main advisor to the President of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Democratic Constituent Congress of the Republic of Peru, and consultant to the Latin American Integration Association and Latin American Economic Systems.  He also held many International official and academic positions including at the UN and OAS.

He has published many books and articles in Peru as well as overseas.  He speaks Spanish, English and French, resides in Lima, and is married with one daughter.
