The
energy services workshop will focus on an important component of the energy
services chain: energy transactions carried out over information
technology platforms--i.e. e-commerce. The goal of the workshop is
to examine the growing energy sector and the emergence of a variety of
new services currently reshaping the energy market. The workshop
will look at the role of services in natural gas, electricity and the environment.
Ultimately, it will attempt to identify specific policy and regulatory
impediments that negatively affect efficient region-wide energy information
technology transactions.

additional information about the workshop please contact Jerry Pruzan,

The
PECC Energy Forum will hold a workshop on energy services in Kuala Lumpur
on May 15, 2001. The one-half day program will follow a workshop
on e-commerce being prepared by the Korea Energy Economics Institute.
The two programs will precede the next meeting of the APEC Energy Working
Group which will be held May 17-19.
